We also like to serve up a forkful of good, green karma with every bite.
Our jars (Number 1 plastic) and lids are 100% recyclable. We also provide on-site recycling at the kiosk.
All the wood on the kiosk is reclaimed barn wood.
All of our bags, utensils, salad dressing containers, and packaging for the utensils are biodegradable corn-based PLA packaging (biodegradable & recyclable)
Our napkins are made from 100% recycled paper
We operate from a licensed, shared-use kitchen, which means we have less of an environmental footprint.
Power consumption for each kiosk is under $25 worth of electricity a month. Compared to a traditional restaurant we are waaaaay more energy efficient. (That’s a totally scientific estimate.)
We minimize the paper labeling on our jars by screen-printing most of the information. This means less paper waste, and, makes them easier to recycle.
We choose suppliers like Testa Produce, because they are green as well. They use electric delivery trucks, are LEED Platinum certified, and are home to the first freestanding wind turbine in Chicago.
You Can Make a Difference, Too
Join our efforts by only using the provided napkins, utensils and bags if you really need them. We’re happy to help you in a pinch, but bringing your own bag and using your own fork is even better. Because the fewer we order, the less environmental impact there is (think production and transportation). Thanks, everyone.
